This month Willow Class are working on two big goals. We are working on being persistent and independent. These are two very important tasks as they help us get ready for 2nd class and for being persistent and independent adults. We need our families to support and encourage us reach our personal goals this month.
Boys and girls have picked independent goals they would like to work on, some of these include; tying our shoelaces, standing in the line by themselves in the morning, getting dressed independently, being organised with the clothes for school, tying their football boots independently. At the end of the month, I will be awarding children who have made an effort to achieve these goals with a homework pass and 10 dojo points. Parents can use class dojo to let me know how the boys and girls are getting on with these goals at home. IT's going to be a super month of working tough, never giving up and being proud of our independent efforts. Willow class are busy exploring the topic of 'The Garden' in Aistear for the next two weeks. We are doing some planting, creating our garden centre seed packets and signage and role playing going to the Garden Centre.
We love Irish week! We played fun games, had a Ceilí (Irish dance), sang songs and read books as Gaeilge (in Irish).
Thanks to all the families who made our Ceolchoirm this morning. In case you missed it, we'll be posting a video of the performance on our blogs next week. We finished up this brillant week with a trip to Alder class, our teddies went on an adventure as written by Alder class in a book with fabulous pictures!
We had so much fun in imaginosity yesterday! Check out all that we got up to in the video below!
Don't forget parents and families that tomorrow the boys and girls will performing for our Ceolchoirm Gaeilge (Irish concert) as part of Seachtain na Gaeilge. The school will also have a Lá Glas (green day). The boys and girls are encouraged to dress in green, white and orange - like the Irish flag.
Parents are also invited in to join us for our Bricfeasta Gaeilge (Irish breakfast). We will have traditional breads and other delicious items for you to enjoy. |
